Eye-care considerations for horses
Horse eyes can deteriorate quickly after injury or inflammation. Product choice should follow a veterinary examination and a handling plan that protects both horse and handler.
Treat eye changes as time-sensitive
Tearing, swelling, light sensitivity, cloudiness, discharge or keeping an eye closed warrant veterinary contact.
Use a safe position
Stand beside the head rather than directly in front. Work in a calm area and follow the application technique demonstrated by your veterinarian.
Support—not substitute
Lubrication may support ocular comfort, but it does not replace antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, surgical or other treatment when those are indicated.
